  • Sam de Ruiter

    OWNER & LEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Sam is the founder and lead physiotherapist at Richmond Physiotherapy. With over six years of experience working within the region’s largest rehabilitation providers, Sam brings a wealth of clinical knowledge alongside a genuine passion for helping people move and feel better.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPhty) and is experienced in:
    - Sports and work-related injuries
    - Post-surgical rehabilitation
    - Acute and chronic pain management
    - ACC injury rehabilitation
    - Strength-based recovery and return to activity

Sam’s approach is evidence-based, and focused on long-term outcomes. Clients value Sam’s clear communication style, calm confidence, and commitment to providing thorough, unrushed care in every session.

  • Katie de Ruiter

    PRACTICE MANAGER & ADMINISTRATION

Katie is the backbone of the day-to-day running of Richmond Physiotherapy, managing all administration, accounts, and behind-the-scenes operations for the clinic. Alongside supporting the business, Katie works as a qualified accountant in the public sector.

As Sam’s wife and a busy mum herself, Katie has a deep understanding of the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare for families and the wider community. Her warm, friendly nature is often the first point of contact for our clients, and she takes pride in making every interaction with the clinic as smooth, welcoming, and stress-free as possible.

Katie is passionate about helping the clinic run seamlessly so Sam can focus on what he does best - providing exceptional physiotherapy care!

  • Arthur de Ruiter

    CHIEF MORALE OFFICER

Our youngest team member, Arthur, is a bright and busy two-year-old who can often be spotted in the clinic when Katie pops in to help behind the scenes. He has a big love for diggers, playgrounds, and enthusiastically waving and saying hello to anyone who crosses his path.

He’s also a huge fan of dogs - so if you ever arrive with a four-legged friend, you can be sure they’ll get an especially warm welcome. With his cheerful personality and curious nature, Arthur brings plenty of smiles to both staff and clients alike. While he doesn’t treat patients just yet, his role in boosting morale and adding to the warm, family-friendly feel of Richmond Physiotherapy is very important indeed.

OUR MISSION

Richmond Physiotherapy was founded to provide the local community with a modern, personalised, and high-quality physiotherapy experience - where every client feels heard, supported, and confident in their recovery.

We believe exceptional physiotherapy goes beyond simply treating pain. It’s about understanding the person behind the injury, educating you about your body, and empowering you with the tools to move well for life.
